About Martha’s Vineyard

Martha’s Vineyard is an island of about 100 square miles, located approximately 6 miles off of the coast of Massachusetts. Part of the charm of Martha s Vineyard is that it is only accessible by plane or boat, as there is no bridge connecting the island to the mainland. The island has six very distinct and charming New England towns. Martha’s Vineyard is known as a seaside resort area with great beaches, but there are many other activities and interesting landscapes to explore.

Oak Bluffs is arguably the most fun and casual of the Martha’s Vineyard towns, as well as the most accessible in the summer with five different ferry companies sailing into the busy Oak Bluffs harbor. Besides a very active harbor, the town is surrounded by public beaches and hosts two large parks nearby. The downtown areas boast a variety of shopping venues to fit almost every taste and budget, as well as a similar variety of dining and bar options. Oak Bluffs is also home to the colorful and historic “Gingerbread Cottages” which are a big part of the charm of Oak Bluffs.

The staff at Isabelle’s Beach House has put together a list of resources below. They hope you will find the websites helpful, with additional information for planning your visit to this Oak Bluffs inn, as well as your entire Martha’s Vineyard vacation.
